Neil Freeman, PhD, CDir, brings to LUI a strong track record of leadership and accomplishment in Ontario’s electricity industry. Over his long career, he has held senior positions at Ontario Hydro, Hydro One, Ontario Power Authority, Horizon Utilities and Public Energy Inc.

Neil was named the first ever “Individual Sustainability Leadership” recipient by the Canadian Electricity Association and a “Privacy by Design Ambassador” by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. He also led Horizon Utilities to become the first “Sustainable Electric Company” in Canada and the first utility to receive a “Brownie Award” from the Canadian Urban Institute.

Neil currently runs his own management consultancy and is the author of The Politics of Power: Ontario Hydro and its Government, 1906-95.
